It was late 2020, I had started my journey into modular synthesis for about a year, not long before the pandemic. What appeared at first as a momentary lapse or reason proved very helpful to cope with the countless days to be spent home, almost alone, with or without wine.

I call it noise therapy.

At some point, I got in touch with Maciek. I was thinking of buying an instrument from him, I eventually did not, but it got us starting to exchange music.

After a year or so Maciek invited me to put 30 minutes of material together. Here it is.

All tracks are excerpts from home improvisations on a small eurorack system recorded between 2020 and 2022.

The tracks are named after nuclear plants and their respective numbers of reactors in Belgium.

Nuclear plants not only provide electricity, they also produce material for the military, and waste for eternity. On top of that, it makes beautiful clouds, regardless the weather. And it is perfectly safe, of course.
Microfissures is moniker of belgian sound artist Olivier Praet. Plants is his first release. From where he lives, he sees the clouds of Tihange.
